About

Built for one counter, not every shop in India

HindustanBills is web-based GST billing software for Indian clothing, saree and footwear shops. Stock is kept by colour and size, GST on garments is worked out by each piece's price, exchanges are one screen, and every bill updates stock, udhaar khata and GST tables on its own. ₹2,999 a year.

Built in India

Why it is narrow on purpose

Most billing software in India is sold to everybody — a kirana store, a chemist, a saree shop and a mobile dealer are all shown the same product. It can be made to fit all of them, which is another way of saying it fits none of them particularly well. The saree shop ends up typing “M — maroon” into a notes field.

HindustanBills starts from the opposite end. It is built for shops whose stock comes in colours and sizes, whose GST rate moves with the price of a piece, and whose customers come back to swap a size. A style goes in once, in all its colours and sizes. The rate on a garment is worked out per piece after the discount. An exchange is a credit note at what was paid. Credit goes to a khata that matches the bill it came from.

Garment and ethnic-wear shops are the centre of it. Kidswear, footwear, boutiques and home-textile shops want the same things and are welcome — the product does not change what it shows you based on the trade you name.

Garments & menswear

Shirts, trousers and jeans in every waist and size, the ₹2,500 GST line on every bill, and the medium that sold out marked before the customer asks.

Sarees, ethnic & boutiques

Wedding-season queues, udhaar for regular families, and alterations with a promised date that is kept.

Kidswear & footwear

Sizes by age and by UK number, exchanges every day, and each size's own reorder level.

Home textiles & fabric

Bedsheets, towels and curtains rated by price like garments, fabric at 5% at any price, and purchase bills for input credit.

Scope

What we do not build

Saying no to these is the decision, not an oversight. If your shop needs one of them, we are the wrong software and would rather you knew now.

  • Pharmacy batch and expiry tracking
  • Restaurant tables and KOT
  • Grocery loose-weight billing
  • IMEI and serial-number tracking, and repair job cards
  • Hardware and paint quantity conversions

How we work

Four things that do not change

One trade, properly

Shops that sell garments, sarees, footwear and home textiles — goods in colours and sizes, taxed by their price, swapped across the counter every day. Depth in that counter beats breadth across trades, so that is where every hour goes.

Nothing is advertised until it ships

Every claim on this site has a screen behind it. If a feature is being built, it says so and gives a date — it does not appear in a feature list early.

One price, no tiers

₹2,999 a year for the whole shop. No per-user pricing, no module that costs extra, no quote to request, no salesperson to get past.

Your data leaves when you do

Exports are built in, not a favour. We do not hold your records hostage to keep you subscribed.

Who builds it

HindustanBills is built and supported by one person, in India: Gurpreet Kait, who writes the code, the GST notes on the blog, and the replies to your email. That is the whole company. It is worth knowing before you buy, for two reasons that pull in opposite directions.

The good side: the person who writes the code is the person who answers your email. There is no support tier to escalate through and no account manager relaying your problem to someone else. A bug you report on a Tuesday is usually looked at on a Tuesday, and the product is shaped by what shopkeepers actually say rather than by a roadmap committee.

The honest other side: one person is not a call centre. Support is by email, in English and Hindi, on Indian working days — usually the same day, not within minutes at two in the morning. The cancellation policy and the export tools exist so that this is a risk you can walk away from, not one you are locked into.

How it makes money, and what happens if you leave

One subscription, ₹2,999 a year for the whole shop, after a 7-day trial that needs no card. That is the only way the business earns. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not take a cut of your sales.

If you decide to leave, products, sales, customers and reports export to CSV and invoices to PDF from inside the app. Do it while your access is still live — once a subscription lapses the screens those exports run from are behind the subscribe wall. Your data is not deleted when you lapse, and we will help you get it out if you have already lost access. The cancellation and refund policy spells all of this out.
